Archer Midnight
Archer Aviation displayed a full-scale mockup of its Midnight piloted four-passenger eVTOL air taxi and reported progress with its partner, automaker Stellantis, on preparing for production. The first prototype ie being prepared for its first flight in California.
Archer Midnight
Archer's eVTOL is designed to be piloted initially, and the cockpit features dual sidestick controls and large-format displays. Archer has chosen Garmin's G3000 integrated flight deck for the Midnight.
Volocopter VoloCity
Volocopter presented its two-seat Volocity in the Paris Air Mobility showcase while its 2X prototype participated in the daily flying display, showing off its quietness. Volocopter plans to launch commercial air taxi service at the Paris Olympics in July 2024
Wisk 6th Gen
Now 100% owned by Boeing, startup Wisk Aero brought a full-scale mockup of its Gen 6 air taxi to Paris. The four-passenger Gen 6 is unusual among eVTOL designs in being fully autonomous and self-flying from the outset. The first prototype is planned to fly this year.
Wisk 6th Gen
By making its four-passenger Gen 6 eVTOL fully autonomous and removing the need for a pilot on board, Wisk expects to increase the safety and improve the economics of urban and regional air taxi operations.
VoltAero Cassio 330
French startup VoltAero unveiled the first prototype of its Cassio 330 five-seat hybrid-electric aircraft at Paris. Powered by a Kawasaki internal-combustion engine and Safran electric motor driving the pusher propeller via a gearbox, the aircraft is planned to fly by year-end.
EHang EH216S
A pioneer of eVTOL technology, China's EHang is in the final stages of type-certifying its EH216S autonomous two-seat air taxi with the Civil Aviation Administration of China. This would make the aircraft the first eVTOL in the world to reach certification.
Ascendance
Representing the host country, French startup Ascendance Flight Technologies displayed a model of its planned Atea hybrid-electric regional eVTOL. In addition to the Atea, Toulouse-based Ascendance is developing its own hybrid-electric propulsion system, called Sterna.
CityAirbus
CityAirbus NextGen is an all-electric, four-seat vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) prototype. Based on a lift and cruise concept, it boasts an 80-km operational range and a cruise speed of 120 km/h.
Eve
Embaer spinoff Eve Air Mobility displayed a full-scale cabin mockup and revealed new details of its eVTOL air taxi. The lift-plus-cruise design now has a single pusher propeller for propulsion, replacing the earlier twin ducted props, as a result of extensive optimization studies.
Renault 4 eVTOL
Built and flown to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Renault 4 by design house TheArsenale in 2021, the Renault AIR4 is a single-seat multicopter eVTOL with four rotors and a carbon-fiber Renault 4 body as the fuselage.
Advanced air mobility was a major theme of the 2023 Paris Air Show, with several of the leading electric vertical-takeoff-and-landing designs for China, Europe and the U.S. on display at a dedicated showcase in Hall 5.
