SIA Engineering Company To Get New CEO

Singapore Airlines (SIA) has announced that its SVP of cargo, Chin Yau Seng will leave the flag-carrier to join SIA Engineering Company (SIAEC) as its new CEO effective June 1. 

He will replace Ng Chin Hwee who held the position since April 2020. 

Chin is also a member of the SIAEC board of directors. He was previously CEO of SilkAir, Tiger Airways Holdings and SIA SVP of cargo sales and marketing. 

Marvin Tan, SVP of customer services and operations will be appointed as SIA’s new cargo head.

Separately, SIAEC has announced that it has secured a comprehensive services agreement with SIA. The agreement which covers MRO and fleet management support services, commenced April 1 and will also supersede and extend a previous services agreement from 2019. SIAEC says the three-year term will yield S$1.14 billion ($856 million) in revenue. 

SIA’s LCC arm Scoot has also signed a new two-year contract with an option for an one-year extension for similar MRO services worth S$120.8 million.
