Aer Lingus Dublin Link Provides Transatlantic Connections from Doncaster Sheffield
Aer Lingus Regional, which is operated by Stobart Air has announced its plans to run a new service between Dublin and Robin Hood Doncaster Sheffield from May 29, 2015.
The new route will operate five-times-weekly and will offer connecting flights to Boston, New York, Chicago and Toronto.
Dublin Airport offers US bound passengers’ immigration and preclearance services so there are no border checks upon arrival into the United States.
Peter O’Mara, Business Development Director said that the new route to Doncaster Sheffield represents another key destination for Aer Lingus Regional passengers: “We are delighted to announce the launch of our new Dublin to Doncaster Sheffield route. Today’s announcement offers further choice for travel to the UK for our passengers and reflects the ongoing success of our franchise partnership with Aer Lingus.”
Stobair Air’s new route will be the eighteenth new service from Dublin Airport in 2015. The new route will initially operate seasonally, until October 2015.
Dublin Airport Managing Director Vincent Harrison said he was delighted to welcome Aer Lingus Regional’s new service to Doncaster Sheffield, which will be the airline’s fourteenth service from Dublin: “South Yorkshire is steeped in history and has many beautiful attractions for those in search of cultural and activity breaks.”
The Finningley and Rossington Regeneration Route Scheme (FARRRS) will also be a great addition, as it is set to slash half an hour off the journey time between Sheffield and the airport, when it opens in January next year.
Passenger numbers at Robin Hood Airport are expected to climb eight percent to 760,000 this year and 860,000 the year after.
