Austrian Airlines is expanding in Scandinavia, with a new route in Sweden. The carrier will relaunch service to Gothenburg in June 2017, running three times a week.
The route to Sweden's second largest city will be served on an Embraer jet. This service will see the number of flights to Sweden weekly go up to 24, with Austrian offering 21 weekly services to the capital, Stockholm.
The carrier's summer 2017 schedule will see three Scandinavian countries served, with links to Copenhagen, Oslo, Stockholm and latest announcement Gothenburg.
Gothenburg had previously been served by Austrian Airlines until 2012. This service was cancelled four years ago following the airline's fleet Boeing 737 reduction program.
The route will be served as follows:
Route | Flight number | Weekday | Departure-Arrival |
Vienna-Gothenburg | OS 323 | Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays | 9.50am - 11.50am |
Gothenburg-Vienna | OS 324 | Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays | 12.30pm - 2.30pm |
Austrian Airlines has also recently announced a new leisure route for the Innsbruck market, with a once weekly service to Rhodes.
