Celebrating a second consecutive win at the Routes Europe Marketing Awards, City Airport Bremen’s marketing approach is certainly paying off.
The airport saw a 6.1 percent increase in passenger numbers for 2014, and after coming first in the category for airport’s under four million passengers at the Routes Marketing Awards, the airport has a lot to celebrate.
According to Bremen’s Florian Kruse, Director Sales, Marketing and Communication, the airport’s team is full of creativity.
“We are trying to offer a different marketing approach, with creative and open-minded ideas to maximise what Bremen has to offer,” he said.
The airport saw 2.77 million passengers in 2014, though the airport is aiming to reach three million by 2017. Growth has continued into this year, with new routes for the summer to include Germania to Paphos, Ryanair to Prague and Express Airways to Split in Croatia.
Bremen has seen Ryanair establish a total of six new routes this year, and the airport is focussing on increasing its Eastern European market.
“We’re very happy that the next Routes event in Europe is in Krakow as this will enable us to focus on the Eastern European market, we would really like a route to Budapest” added Mr Kruse.
This years’ marketing tactics included a number of space-themed videos to help promote the region’s flourishing aerospace industry.
Here’s an example of the airport’s innovative marketing, which has been well received by the industry:
