What are you next targets for route development?
We are looking at Chinese airlines to operate to Helsinki and would like to see more North American connections as well.
What is your main message at World Routes?
Helsinki Airport provides fast connections between Asia and Europe and great network to Lapland and elsewhere in the world, offering cost effective and excellent operations to the airlines. Helsinki Airport is the expert in customer experience and Finavia a trusted partner for airlines. Helsinki Airport develops and grows: new south wing was opened in June.
This year, we are expecting more than 18 million passengers, with major growth from China. Helsinki Airport is now officially carbon neutral and the rest of the network in 2020 thanks to e.g. solar energy and bio fuel used in apron buses. Finland, celebrating 100 years of independence, is adesirable destination: Helsinki, Lapland and Lakeland.
