Tewolde GebreMariam began his career at Ethiopian Airlines in 1985 and has served as chief executive since January 2011. Under his leadership, the Star Alliance member has grown to become the largest carrier in Africa.
Its Vision 2025 strategy seeks to make the carrier the leading airline group in Africa in seven strategic business areas: international passenger service, regional service, cargo, MRO, aviation academy, inflight catering services and ground services.
At Routes Africa 2018, GebreMariam will take part in a CEO Keynote Interview, offering valuable insight into Ethiopian Airlines growth and future strategy.
He will also discuss the huge potential for the Single African Air Transport Market, designed to open up Africa's skies and improve intra-African air connectivity, and why Ethiopian Airlines is helping to revive Zambia’s national carrier.
GebreMariam joins a Conference Programme that also includes Raphael Kuuchi, the vice president for Africa at IATA; Ali Tounsi, secretary general of ACI Africa; and Wilken Bellmann, head of network planning and scheduling at SunExpress.
Routes Africa, the longest standing and most established aviation forum in the continent, will take place from 16 - 18 July 2018 in Accra, Ghana, and be hosted by Ghana Airports Company Limited.
