Route Exchange Airline Briefings continue to go from strength to strength as is shown by the success of the briefings held during last year’s Routes events. These ever popular briefings, given by senior network planners, are an opportunity for attending airports to gain an overview of the carriers, allowing them to view, first-hand, what information the airline requires from the airports when making route proposals.
At this year’s Routes Americas event, four high profile airlines, who are looking to launch new services within the Americas, have confirmed that they will deliver a briefing outlining the route development opportunities that exist and how airports can be part of their airline expansion.
Launching a Request for Proposals (RFP) via Route Exchange, the online platform for air service development, Alaska Airlines’ Ben Munson, Director Network Planning, will deliver a Route Exchange Briefing to discuss how the carrier’s record order of 50 Boeing 737 MAX in October 2012 will impact their route development plans. The aircraft are scheduled to be delivered between 2015 and 2022 and Alaska is actively seeking new destinations.
Also using Route Exchange to launch an RFP Lukas Johnson, Director Strategy & Pricing for Allegiant Air will outline growth plans as they prepare for their international expansion. Airport delegates who are looking to learn more about this impressive Las Vegas based carrier and seeking services to Las Vegas or Orlando should be sure to attend this briefing.
Arik De, Network Planning Manager for WestJet has confirmed that he will also deliver a briefing in Cartagena which will detail plans for the airline’s new subsidiary carrier, WestJet Encore. Airports seeking service to the US with the world’s largest airline, Delta Air Lines should attend the Route Exchange Briefing delivered by Delta’s General Manager Planning for Caribbean and Latin America, Christine Kennedy. This insightful briefing will outline how the SkyTeam carrier intends to evaluate new routes within the Caribbean and Latin American market.
Places are limited and airport delegates should contact Kirsty Studholme, Scheduling Manager for Routes Americas to add briefings to your diary of pre-scheduled meetings. Click here for further information about the programme of Route Exchange Briefings and to register for Routes Americas 2013.
