Nordica has unveiled details of two new air services at World Routes 2017.
The Estonian carrier announced two new routes; Talinn to Ohrid in Macedonia and Tallinn to Constanta in Romania.
Discussing its ongoing route strategy, Sven Kukemelk, CEO regional jet OU, executive director, Nordica, explained that its aircraft mean that routes within 1,000 km are its current priority.
Sven said: “We wanted to announce these services at World Routes because the event is very important for the route development community.
“Everything starts with data. It’s about market segmentation when choosing a route. When making decision we ask if we can expect business, leisure, and what mix? We have no idea what happens in some markets; we’re relying on intelligence from those destinations.”
Nordica currently operates 19 routes from Tallinn and has 28 percent of the airport’s market share.
Sven spoke alongside Robert Ludera, director, network planning & scheduling, LOT Polish Airlines. Robert explained the importance of the German market to its route development strategy.
“We already have five destinations in Germany and we’re looking to develop aircraft sizes and frequencies,” he said. “Germany is our biggest partner and we expect more value in that market.”
