Record number of Routes meetings

Routes is on course to smash the previous record for the total number of pre-arranged meetings across its core events.

More than 7,000 meetings are set to take place at World Routes 2017 in Barcelona this year, putting Routes on course to break the 17,000 milestone for the year. The discussions taking place will help to shape the world's future air services.

The expected figure, which combines the number of meetings across Routes’ four core events in 2017, is up by more than 13 percent on last year and 27 percent higher than 2015. Our Americas, Asia and Europe conferences have already exceeded previous records this year.

Simon Baxendale, scheduling manager at Routes, said: “Face-to-face meetings form the core of all Routes events and offer airlines, airports and tourism authorities a fantastic opportunity to discuss new business opportunities.

“With in excess of 7,000 meetings taking place in Barcelona alone, World Routes is set to help shape the future of route development and the wider aviation industry.”
