ROUTES AMERICAS: VivaAerobus to Open Five New Routes from Ciudad Juárez and Tampico
Mexican low-cost carrier VivaAerobus has agreed a deal with local airport operator OMA to launch five new routes from Abraham Gonzalez International Airport in Ciudad Juarez and General Francisco Javier Mina International Airport in Tampico.
The new deal will add to the carrier’s existing flights from Ciudad Juarez to Guadalajara and Monterrey and from Tampico to Cancún, Monterrey and Toluca, and was exclusively revealed to The HUB on the final afternoon of this year’s Routes Americas forum in San Salvador, El Salvador.
The arrangement is still in its early stages and will see VivaAerobus launch twice weekly flights on the five routes at some point during the second quarter of 2014. It is currently analysing demand in a number of domestic markets and will be ready to announce its chosen route pairs by the end of March 2014, according to commercial planning manager, Angel Garcia Colin.
