A Shenzhen Airlines flight arrived at Barcelona-El Prat Airport (BCN) on Aug. 28, inaugurating the Chinese carrier’s service to Spain.
Shenzhen Airlines will operate 2X-weekly flights between Shenzhen Bao'an International Airport (SZX) in Guangdong province and BCN. Barcelona marks the second European destination served by the airline, which already operates flights between SZX and London Heathrow Airport.
The carrier will fly the SZX-BCN route with an Airbus A330-300. The airline says 203 passengers were aboard the initial flight to BCN.
“The new route sets up a convenient air bridge between the two cities, which will further promote the cooperation between the two places and even between the two nations in the fields of sci-tech, culture, tourism and trade,” Shenzhen Airlines says in a statement.
The carrier operates 226 passenger aircraft, the fifth-largest fleet among Chinese airlines, according to Shenzhen Airlines.
