UBM agrees partnership with China Business Network to help promote World Routes 2016
UBM and the China Business Network are working together on a marketing agreement for World Routes 2016 in Chengdu, China. The partnership will see China Business Network provide strategic partnership and marketing activities ahead of next year’s event as well as support on organising tourism-related conference content for the World Routes Strategy Summit and other event briefings.
The global network development forum makes its return to mainland China in September next year after a successful first outing in Beijing in 2009. It will be hosted by Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport, which successfully delivered an exceptional Routes Asia forum in 2012.
China Business Network is a consortium of entities focusing on outward investment, outbound travel from China as well as facilitating both import and export trade by providing business consultancy and facilitating services for large numbers of Chinese and foreign authorities, businesses as well as other organisations.
Under the terms of this agreement it will help promote World Routes and other Routes events to potential exhibitors and participants in China and will translate relevant information into Chinese and host the event’s Chinese web pages on the China Wide Web.
“The China Business Network incorporating the World Travel Online and CBN Travel & MICE are honoured to be able to team up with UBM and the Routes team on World Routes 2016” said Adam Wu, Chief Operating Officer, China Business Network.
In recent years China has overtaken both USA and Germany to become the largest outbound market in the world with Chinese travellers now the top source of tourism cash, according to the UNWTO. In 2012 their annual spend was estimated at $102 billion, growing to a market of 97 million and spend of $124 billion in 2013 and 110 million and $165 billion last year.
China has been increasing its outward direct investment, which now exceeds $100 billion. Chinese investors and businesses have invested in nearly 25,000 companies in 196 countries and regions, which goes hand-in-hand with outbound travel particularly in the lucrative MICE sector. This has been further facilitated by more than 170 destinations having Approved Destination Status to ease tour operator access, with 39 countries having signed full visa waiver agreements with China to welcome more Chinese visitors
“More and more disposable income has enabled more and more Chinese to travel abroad in order to fulfill their dreams of visiting foreign countries, to enrich themselves culturally with experience of foreign destinations and people,” said Dr Wu. China has the highest number of US$ Billionaires in Asia and more than two million US$ millionaires.
