Canadian Regional airline, WestJet Encore has announced its plans to launch a new service between Toronto and Boston.
The three-times-daily link will operate a morning, afternoon and evening service, and will be the first service to the US operated by WestJet Encore. Services between the two will commence on March 15, 2016, departing Toronto at 07:05am, 12:20pm, and 17:40pm.
WestJet is also planning to launch a new service between Halifax and Boston, to operate daily from April 15, 2016, departing Halifax at 12:50pm, and arriving into Boston at 13:38pm.
As part of its new winter schedule, the airline is launching a new non-stop service to Florida, Mexico and Costa Rica, as well as adding more than 85 flights across its growing domestic and international network as part of the upcoming winter timetable.
"WestJet continues to enhance its strong position in key sun markets with the addition of more destinations in areas popular with Canadian travellers," said Chris Avery, WestJet Vice-President, Network Planning, Alliances and Corporate Development.
The airline will introduce new service to Mexico between Toronto and Huatulco, Toronto and Merida and Toronto as Cabo San Lucas, as well as additional service to Costa Rica between Toronto and San Jose.
The Canadian airline has also announced a new non-stop weekly service from Charlottetown to Orlando, Florida, from December 18, 2015 to run every week until April 29, 2016.
Doug Newson, CEO of Charlottetown Airport noted, "We are very pleased to see WestJet launch this new exciting product for our market.” He added, "This is great news for Islanders as the community and our frequent travellers have been looking for direct service to Florida from Charlottetown for a long time.”
WestJet also announced improvements to its winter domestic program for Charlottetown. For the first time ever, WestJet will be providing daily service from Charlottetown to Toronto through the winter months.
The airline will also add new non-stop flights between Calgary and Florida, Costa Rica and Mexico, and between Vancouver and Orlando.
WestJet now offers scheduled services to over 90 destinations in North America, Central America, the Caribbean and Europe.
