What’s on The Horizon For: Dallas Fort Worth International Airport
Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport (DFW), an exhibitor at Routes World 2023 in Istanbul, was fortunate to emerged from the pandemic in a stronger position than before.
Having secured additional market share with American Airlines, its main airline partner, the airport handled more than 60 million passengers during the first nine months of 2023, marking a rise of 11.4% on the same period a year earlier.
Summer 2024 is also shaping up to be a record season with American planning to offer more seats departing DFW than ever before with over 850 daily departures. The schedule includes the airline’s first-ever daily service between DFW and Redmond, Oregon (RDM), becoming its third nonstop destination in Oregon from DFW, after Portland (PDX) and Eugene (EUG).
Speaking in the above video, DFW Executive Vice President Global Strategy and Development John Ackerman outlines the airport’s on delivering a world-class customer experience for passengers. He also discusses the ongoing infrastructure developments, including construction of a new sixth Terminal F that will have 15 gates and seven stands.
Ackerman adds: “We’re also rebuilding our Terminal C, which is really the core of our airport with around 40% of our customers going through there. We’re doing a number of other capital projects around the airport spending a little over $9 billion between now and the end of the decade to revitalize and expand our airport.”
