The Routes Airport Marketing Awards were created in 1997 to recognise excellence in airport marketing as rewarded by airlines. Today these awards are the most highly regarded in the industry and are voted for and judged by airlines.
Voting for the 2013 World Routes Awards, opened earlier this week and for those who feel they would like to be considered for an Award in Las Vegas the procedure is simple; campaign your airline contacts and ask them to vote for you on our website here.
The annual Routes awards provide the airline community with the chance to have their say as to which airport they think provides the best overall marketing services to them whether it be about their particular relationship, effective results, provision of data and information or innovative techniques to establish new or maintain and develop existing routes.
Airlines should consider airports and destinations whose marketing efforts, over the last 12 months, have made a real impact on their future network development plans when deciding who to nominate. Their market research activities, marketing communications, business case presentations and joint communication campaigns with third parties should all be taken into account when voting.
Once the airline network planning community has voted, the votes will be counted and the shortlisted airports and destinations contacted and asked for a submission to support their nomination. This submission process is designed to enable the shortlisted airports to provide information for the judging panel as to why they think they should win the award, providing evidence to support their case.
This year there will be 5 awards categories as follows:
- Airports Under 4 Million Pax
- Airports 4 Million – 20 Million Pax
- Airports 20 Million – 50 Million Pax
- Airports Over 50 Million Pax
- Destinations
Automatically shortlisted in the relevant category will be the overall winners of each of the regional heats which took place earlier this year; San Diego International Airport, Changi Airport Group, Munich Airport, Kilimanjaro International Airport and Ekaterinburg Koltsovo Airport.
Winners of these highly regarded awards will be announced during a ceremony which will take place at the Las Vegas Networking Evening on Monday 7thOctober which will take place at Caesars Palace.
Vote now and play an important role in deciding which airport wins one of these widely sought after accolades. Voting will remain open until Monday 2ndSeptember 2013 and shortlisted airports will be announced shortly after this deadline.
