World Routes is the largest and most important commercial aviation networking forum of its kind and the event attracts key air service development decision makers from all over the globe.
The event, which will take place in Las Vegas, Nevada on 5-8 October 2013, will be co-hosted by Las Vegas Convention & Visitors Authority (LVCVA) and Las Vegas McCarran International Airport and already over 130 of the world’s airlines have registered with over 300 expected to attend the event.
A wide variety of carriers will attend the 19thWorld Route Development Forum and here we outline some of the registered carriers from each region. From Africa registrations have already been received from FastJet, who are developing a Pan-African network, South African Airways and Ethiopian Airlines which are the largest African carriers by Available Seat Kilometres (ASK).
There will be a strong presence from the Americas with the US domestic carriers well represented. Amongst others both Southwest, the worlds largest Low Cost Carrier, and Virgin America, who will make their inaugural appearance at World Routes, have registered for the event. All Nippon Airways and Vietnam Airlines are amongst the Asian carriers who have confirmed their attendance at the event whilst from Europe Turkish Airlines, who are expanding and are interested in ‘niche’ markets, have registered.
From the Middle East the three major carriers of the region (Emirates, Etihad & Qatar Airways) have, once again, registered to attend World Routes and with all three having large numbers of aircraft on order this should produce some interesting meeting opportunities.
In addition to the Face-to-Face Meetings which will take place at World Routes an extensive programme of Route Exchange Airline Briefings is planned for the event in Las Vegas and airlines are signing up for these briefings in full force. Amongst the confirmed briefings are AirAsia, Allegiant Air and Kenya Airways.
Senthil Balan will give an update on AirAsia Group existing and new JV’s, and what they are looking from airports/tourism in building sustainable partnerships whilst the Allegiant briefing will be delivered by Lukas Johnson, Director Strategy and Pricing and Jimmy Kibati, Head of Network Planning & Airline Strategy will deliver the Kenya Airways briefing.
