A record number of delegates from airports around the world are set to attend World Routes 2017 in Barcelona.
Approximately 1,200 attendees representing 602 airports will descend on the capital of Catalonia to discuss, develop and plan network strategy that will help to shape the future of aviation.
In total, delegates representing 107 countries from across the globe will be in attendance.
World Routes is the largest global gathering of airlines, airports and tourism destinations, with thousands of high-level meetings taking place each year.
The event presents an unrivalled platform for route development professionals to discuss, develop and plan network strategy.
Among the airports in attendance are Auckland, Boston, Brisbane, Frankfurt, Heathrow, Hannover, Milan, Quebec, Shanghai and Washington.
The record airport delegate number follows the news that Routes is on course to smash the previous record for the total number of pre-arranged meetings across its core events.
More than 7,000 meetings are set to take place at World Routes 2017 in Barcelona this year, putting Routes on course to break the 17,000 milestone for the year.
In addition, all of the world’s top ten airlines by passenger numbers are confirmed to attend World Routes 2017.
