Chen Chuanren is the Southeast Asia and China Editor for the Aviation Week Network’s (AWN) Air Transport World (ATW) and the Asia-Pacific Defense Correspondent for AWN, joining the team in 2017.
Prior joining AWN, Chuanren was a regular serviceman in the Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF) Air Defense and Operations Command. He now serves the RSAF Air Force Information Center as a reservist. He holds a Bachelor of Mass Communications as well as a Diploma in Mechatronics (Aerospace).
The airline portfolio includes HNA's flagship carrier Hainan Airlines as well as Air Changan, China Xinhua Airlines, Fuzhou Airlines, Guangxi Beibu Gulf Airlines, Lucky Air, Shanxi Airlines and Urumqi Air.
The COMAC C919 regional airliner will likely miss its year-end target to certification target, with the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) saying that there are still a number of flight and static tests to be completed.
