Based in Washington, Jen manages Aviation Week’s worldwide defense, space and security coverage.
Prior to taking on her current role, Jen was Aviation Week's Congressional Editor. Jen came to Aviation Week in March 2011 from Politico, where she covered the intersection of defense and politics. She also worked as a reporter and editor for Defense Daily, Inside the Army, The Other Paper and The Columbus Dispatch.
Jen received a Master’s degree in journalism as a Kiplinger Fellow at the Ohio State University. She graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in history and journalism from the University of Michigan.
The U.S. Senate Commerce Committee on July 31 approved a bill to oppose the EU’s emissions trading system (ETS), but only after panelists amended the bill to limit the transportation secretary’s authority to prohibit U.S. carriers from participating.
PAC-3 FOR KUWAIT: The White House is asking Congress to approve the $4.2 billion sale of up to 60 Patriot Advanced Capability (PAC-3) missiles to Kuwait, according to the Defense Security Cooperation Agency. The sale, which would include related parts, components, training and logistical support, adds to a record-setting year of foreign military sales. Buoyed by the $30 billion sale of Boeing F-15s to Saudi Arabia, the U.S. already anticipates more than $50 billion in weapons sales for fiscal 2012.
