In 2013 he was named Managing Editor Commercial.

Jens frequently appears on radio and TV to comment on industry matters. In 2003, he received the Hugo Junkers Award of the German aviation press for his coverage of Fairchild Dornier’s bankruptcy. He was named the country’s top travel and air transport writer by the Travel Industry Club three times. Jens graduated from the Munich School of Journalism.

British Airways says it is committed to its shareholding in European alliance partner Iberia. “We intend to stay with Iberia in the long term,” BA Director of Alliances and Acquisitions Roger Maynard said on the sidelines of the Oneworld CEO meeting in Los Angeles. The airline is talking to Iberia’s main shareholder, Caja Madrid, about “what the next steps can be.” Maynard declined to disclose details, but hinted that the talks are about BA’s role as the main industrial shareholder in Iberia.

U.S. billionaire Leonard Blavatnik is about to become Air Berlin’s largest single shareholder. The Russian-born entrepreneur agreed to buy an 18.56% stake in Air Berlin for an undisclosed sum through his Access Industries investment holding. Air Berlin’s shares gained more than 10% on Monday, with market observers expecting Blavatnik to increase his stake even more.
