Boeing Commercial's President and CEO Scott Carson is optimistic the new 747-8 Intercontinental can meet the ambitious range targets set by Emirates Airline President Tim Clark. Emirates wants to fly the aircraft nonstop from Dubai to Los Angeles with a full payload. Currently, the aircraft can get to somewhere "south of San Francisco," Boeing executives say. "We can solve Clark's problem," Carson told reporters in Seattle. "I'm sure the improvements are doable."
