Jens joined Aviation Week and Aviation Daily in 2000 as one of the European correspondents. Later his role was expanded to cover international air transport. In 2013 he was named Managing Editor Commercial.

Jens frequently appears on radio and TV to comment on industry matters. In 2003, he received the Hugo Junkers Award of the German aviation press for his coverage of Fairchild Dornier’s bankruptcy. He was named the country’s top travel and air transport writer by the Travel Industry Club three times. Jens graduated from the Munich School of Journalism.

Jade Cargo International is looking at ordering more aircraft next year to continue its ambitious growth plans, Managing Director Rudolf Tewes told reporters in Shenzen, China, this week. Jade launched operations with a single Boeing 747-400ERF this month with flights from Shenzen to Amsterdam and Seoul. The airline has five more 747- 400ERFs on firm order. But Tewes wants the airline to grow to about 12 aircraft in the medium term. Jade is looking at additional 747s but could also introduce a smaller aircraft for the development of more regional routes.

Embraer hopes its decision to elect Frederico Fleury Curado as its new president and CEO will ensure continuity and stability at the Brazilian aircraft manufacturer. Curado, 45, will replace long-time CEO Mauricio Botelho at the helm of Embraer in April 2007. Curado is currently executive vice president for the airline market and has been with the company more than 20 years. Botelho will continue as chairman for three more years before retiring in 2010. Embraer has not decided yet who will succeed Curado in his current position.
