Jens frequently appears on radio and TV to comment on industry matters. In 2003, he received the Hugo Junkers Award of the German aviation press for his coverage of Fairchild Dornier’s bankruptcy. British Airways traffic in November was up 6.3%, the airline said yesterday. BA's capacity increased by 3.6%, leading to a 1.9-percentage-point improvement in load factor (73.2%). The growth was fueled by a 12% improvement in premium traffic, BA noted. At rival Ryanair, traffic was up 23% measured in passenger numbers. British Airways plans to cut 35% of executive positions -- or about 600 jobs -- by early 2008, the airline said yesterday. The company hopes to save GBP50 million (US$86.44 million) in staff expenses annually, about one-sixth of its targeted GBP300 million in savings.
