EADS could announce a solution to its long-standing dispute over its future leadership this week, according to European press reports. EADS Co-Chairmen Manfred Bischoff and Arnaud Lagardere were expected to meet yesterday to discuss and resolve the matter. The company declined comment. German Deputy Minister of Trade and Commerce, Bernd Pfaffenbach, said this week that timing is "good for a decision" now. Also, DaimlerChrysler Chairman Juergen Schrempp last week predicted that the EADS senior management dispute would be clarified this week.

Ryanair increased its fuel hedging position from 75% to 90% for the September-March period, CEO Michael O'Leary said yesterday. The airline hedged fuel at $47/barrel, reversing an earlier strategy. "If oil stays at $60, then our fuel bill will be higher for 2006, but it will have much bigger effect on our competitors," he said.
