EasyJet jet will restart hedging whenever oil prices fall back to the $30- to $40 per barrel range, CEO Ray Webster said yesterday. "Where oil is at the moment, we are taking the spot price," Webster said. The airline could operate about 300 aircraft in the long term, Webster said. Scandinavian Airlines parent SAS Group posted another loss in the first quarter of 2005 but says it will be profitable for the full year. The net loss totaled SEK971 million (US$135 million), compared with a SEK1.37 billion loss a year earlier. The airline managed to reduce unit costs by 7.5% in the quarter, but fuel costs rose by 31%.
