In 2013 he was named Managing Editor Commercial.

Jens frequently appears on radio and TV to comment on industry matters. In 2003, he received the Hugo Junkers Award of the German aviation press for his coverage of Fairchild Dornier’s bankruptcy. He was named the country’s top travel and air transport writer by the Travel Industry Club three times. Jens graduated from the Munich School of Journalism.

German air traffic control provider Deutsche Flugsicherung (DFS) plans to lower its fees significantly in 2005, thanks in part to efficient operations and growing demand. DFS will reduce takeoff and landing charges by 32% and cut en route charges by 16%, reductions that Managing Director Dieter Kaden says are possible because of improved productivity and demand. DFS last year recorded a EUR80.8 million profit (US$99.8 million) on revenues of EUR901 million (US$1.1 billion).
