FlightSafety customers who use the ARGUS CHEQ and Charter X/Wyvern PASS systems can request that FSI transmit their flight crew training information electronically directly to CharterX/Wyvern and ARGUS. The information will then be incorporated into their respective Pilot & Aircraft Safety Survey (PASS) and Charter Evaluation and Qualification (CHEQ) systems. National Air Carrier Association, Washington, D.C., announced that it has hired A. Oakley Brooks as president and CEO. Brooks recently was vice president-Government Affairs for Bombardier Inc., in Washington.
Jan. 23 — At 1852 CST, a Smith Aerostar 601P (N222AQ) collided with terrain and a residence in Sugar Grove, Ill. The airplane took off from Aurora Municipal Airport (ARR), Aurora, Ill., at 1850. Its destination was Rocky Mountain Metropolitan Airport (BJC), Denver. After departure the Aerostar was issued a left turn to a heading of 270 degrees and was instructed to contact departure control. The pilot checked in with departure control reporting that he was leaving 1,300 feet and climbing to 3,000 feet.
