A Learjet 35A, N31MC, registered to Jagee Ventures, Inc, was substantially damaged when it impacted terrain during landing at Renner Field (GLD), Goodland, Kan. It was IFR at the time of the accident. The pilot reported that the airplane exited instrument conditions at 250 feet agl on approach to Runway 30 slightly left of the centerline. The pilot lined up and experienced an uncontrolled left and right rolling motion. He also stated that he noted that the aileron augment annunciator light had illuminated.
At about 1400 PDT, a Hawker 800XP, N800CC, was substantially damaged by a fire originating from the left main landing gear after a takeoff was aborted at the John Wayne-Orange County Airport in Santa Ana, Calif. The aircraft is owned and operated by CIT Leasing Corp. The pilot reported to the FAA inspector from Long Beach that the takeoff was aborted twice before the third attempt due to an engine warning light. All three takeoff attempts were made within about a 20-minute period.
At 2015 CDT, a Beech B90 King Air, N10TM, registered to and operated by Air Amteck LLC, made an emergency landing in a parking lot in Chattanooga, Tenn., and collided with cars. The airplane received substantial damage. It was VFR, but an IFR flight plan was filed for the flight from Birmingham International Airport (BHM), Ala., to Georgetown Scott County Airport (27K) in Georgetown, Ky. The pilot stated that during the preflight before flying from BHM he observed all four fuel gauges were between the three-quarters and full positions.
