The course has hundreds of video lessons that demonstrate how to use the 430/530 and are followed with interactive questions, many using the King built-in trainer that lets you practice what you have just learned, according to King.
At 1650 MST, an America West Bombardier CL-600 sustained an uncontained failure and components separation of the No. 1 engine The flight crew reported they were climbing through approximately 24,000 feet when they heard a loud pop and experienced a vibration or buffet. The airplane began to slow. The crew was unable to maintain altitude and initiated a controlled descent. Preliminary examination of the No. 1 engine revealed that the inlet, fan rotor assembly, the fan containment case, and the thrust reverser were all missing.
At 1426 EST, a Mooney M-20F collided with terrain after loss of control during a local flight over Mount Gilead, Ohio. The ATP pilot and the flight instructor were fatally injured. The flight was a VFR familiarization and training fight operating without a flight plan that originated from the Knox County Airport, Mount Vernon, Ohio, at about 1245 EST. The pilot has purchased the Mooney earlier in the month and was taking instruction for insurance purposes. Witnesses reported seeing and hearing the airplane flying from east to west prior to the accident.
