Second-quarter 2017 net earnings for El Al Israel Airlines fell 53.1% year-over-year (YOY) to $16.4 million, a drop from $35 million in the year-ago quarter, as the airline “had to cope with the huge growth in competition at [Tel Aviv’s] Ben Gurion Airport,” according to El Al CEO David Maimon.
