The U.K. defense ministry says the arrival of the fourth aircraft to Brize Norton on Sept. 10, along with the handover of three other aircraft allows them to declare the type’s capability to undertake extended world-wide tasks.
Lockheed Martin says its SC-130J Sea Hercules, envisioned for an anticipated U.K. requirement for a maritime patrol/multimission aircraft, could be ready for service by the end of the decade.
