The Low-Observable UAV Testbed (LOUT) is a 4-ton representative scale model of a 20-metric ton, twin-engine diamond-shaped subsonic unmanned combat air vehicle (UCAV) developed to prove stealth technologies.
The technology, initially developed for armored vehicles on the battlefield, rapidly discharges a smoke screen to prevent enemy personnel from seeing the helicopters landing.
