Bombardier Aerospace signed a comprehensive, five-year component agreement with Luxair Airline to extend its Smart Parts program coverage for Luxair's six Q400 NextGen turboprops. The deal includes scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, AOG support and parts availability.

Jet Midwest Technik appointed Eric Haymes as president of its maintenance operation in Kansas City, Mo. Haymes is the founder of Mojave Jet, a commercial aircraft trading company.

Goodrich signed an agreement with Rolls-Royce for nacelle maintenance services for British Airways as part of its Total Care support program. The contract will start when British Airways receives its first Boeing 787; Goodrich will complete the work at its facility in Prestwick, Scotland.

Rolls-Royce opened a supply chain office on April 24 in the city of Guaymas, within the northwest Mexican state of Sonora. The office will employ six people.

Consider these two real situations: • Two technicians were discussing last night's hockey game while a third wrestled to maneuver a piece of heavy equipment. Although within 10 ft. of each other, the talking pair never volunteered to help and the technician handling the load never asked for it. • When a large MRO switched its safety reporting initiative from a phone-based system to an Internet-based system, input from technicians skyrocketed from six calls in eight years to more than 800 reports in the first year alone.

Bombardier inaugurated a new engineering service office in Bangalore. It will house an estimated 50 aerospace engineers by the end of 2013.

Air Corsica selected AFI KLM E&M to complete phase out and C checks on its two Airbus A319s as the carrier prepares to return them to a lessor and replace them with two A320s. The C checks were carried out at AFI KLM E&M's Toulouse-Blagnac facility. AFI KLM E&M also gained several modification projects for Airbus A320 and A330 aircraft from the International Lease Finance Corp., including cabin, avionics and material management services. AFI KLM E&M and ILFC work together under a general terms agreement on modification, engineering and engine overhauls.

Air Maintenance Estonia appointed David Williams as managing director and CEO. Williams has more than 28 years of MRO experience, holding managerial positions at SAS Technical Services, Emirates and Abu Dhabi Aircraft Technologies.
