How is the new hangar at Berlin Brandenburg coming together?

Aerostar's new maintenance hangar in Bacau, Romania, will double the MRO's capacity and open new opportunities for widebody and regional contracts. Ovidiu Buhai, Aerostar's director of aviation MRO, expected the 5,000-sq.-meter (54,000-sq.-ft.) hangar to open in mid-May. The new building will have four bays with the capacity to hold four narrowbody aircraft at once, but it is also tall enough to house a Boeing 767-sized widebody. The building sits near Aerostar's current four-bay hangar near Bacau International Airport.

PATS aircraft systems received ISO 9001:2008 and AS9100C quality certification approval.

Field Aviation received an STC from EASA to install the Universal Avionics EFI-890R display system in Dash 8-100/-200/-300 models. The upgrade includes installation of five identical Universal EFI-890R LCD flat panel displays.

Amavco acquired Field Aviation from Field's parent firm, Hunting PLC. Field Aviation is an aircraft modification and parts manufacturing company with locations in Toronto, Calgary, Seattle and Cincinnati. Amavco says it is identifying sites for its first U.S. modification center. Facilities

BAE Systems Regional Aircraft made a variety of MRO services announcements at the Airline Purchasing & Maintenance Expo. Two airlines—Airlink of South Africa and Aerovias of Chile—signed up for BAE's Parts Plus spares service, which is aimed at new operators of the BAe 146/Avro RJ aircraft. Titan Airways, a VIP charter specialist based in London, extended its four-year JetSpares support contract for two more years for its three BAe 146/Avro RJs. BAE also will offer a life extension program for the Jetstream 32.

Swiss Aviation Consulting added Munir Al-Dzhidi to the group as manager, Middle East operations for the group's company Swicamo Middle East Aviation Services.
