Odyssey Aviation U.S., a division of the fixed-base operator (FBO) network with locations in the Bahamas and the U.S., has acquired Golden Isles Aviation (GIA), an FBO serving McKinnon St. Simons Island Airport (SSI) on St. Simons Island, Georgia.

Under the terms of the acquisition, Wade, CEO and president of Golden Isles, will join Odyssey as a partner and serve on its board of directors. The GIA FBO will retain its name and affiliations, including the continuation of serving as a World Fuel Elite location. Granite Creek Capital Partners and Everside Capital, two private investments firms, provided financing for the acquisition. Financial details of the deal were not disclosed.
The addition of Golden Isles makes it the third Odyssey-managed FBO in the U.S., alongside the other two locations at the Kissimmee Gateway Airport (ISM) in Kissimmee, Florida, and Willow Run Airport (YIP) in Ypsilanti, Michigan. Further expansion plans in the U.S. are in the works. The company as Odyssey is one of seven FBOs competing to take over the lease of the sole FBO facility at the Aspen/Pitkin County Airport in Aspen, Colorado. Odyssey’s remaining four facilities are all located in the Bahamas.
