Modernization Funds Grow, But Not Enough for Military
A recommended funding increase of $2.2-2.5 billion for modernization of the U.S. Air Force in Fiscal 2000 is about half of the $4-5 billion requested by chief of staff Gen. Michael E. Ryan, but it would repair some of the major cuts forced on the service in the last 2 years by flat defense budgets....
