Currie was appointed chief executive officer at Joramco in October after serving as chief commercial officer since 2018. The Jordanian MRO provider has been on an expansion path, announcing several new partnerships in recent months related to capabilities such as component maintenance, hydraulic fluids testing, nacelle MRO and passenger-to-cargo conversions—the last of which will see Currie leveraging his previous experience as CEO at cargo carrier Texel Air.
AirAsia Group — Javed Malik, Chief Operating Officer

Malik is spearheading AirAsia’s digital and technology transformation initiatives, on which the company plans to double down as the industry moves into recovery. He has indicated that AirAsia is looking into digital services investment opportunities in areas such as e-procurement, predictive analytics and drones for aircraft maintenance. Its newly formed MRO subsidiary, Asia Digital Engineering, also plans to embrace emerging technologies such as big data analytics and artificial intelligence.
FEAM — Cam Murphy, President

Murphy, who most recently served as managing director of FEAM, became president of the MRO provider in April. Since then, he has driven accelerated growth of the company in his new role. FEAM opened five new maintenance facilities in the U.S. in 2021 and embarked on its first international expansion with the acquisition of UK-based MRO BOSA in September. Murphy is also spearheading new technical projects at FEAM as well as workforce expansion and diversity initiatives.
GE Aviation — John Slattery, President and CEO

Slattery will be at the helm to navigate GE Aviation through the breakup of General Electric into three companies. The company was significantly affected by the pandemic, and its backlog largely comes from services, so Slattery will have his hands full as GE Aviation deals with the industry recovery. He has also recently hinted at the potential for acquisitions, particularly in areas around electrification.
Alaska Airlines — Constance von Muehlen, Chief Operating Officer

Von Muehlen has brought a wealth of aviation maintenance expertise to her role. She spent 30 years working in aviation maintenance and as the airline’s senior vice president of maintenance and engineering before being promoted to COO in April. This experience will likely come into play as the airline transforms its fleet, with many Airbus aircraft leases expiring soon.
