Aviation Week’s 2023 Fleet and MRO Forecast predicts that commercial MRO demand in China will represent a value of $126.9 billion for the period 2023-32.
Engine maintenance work has the highest share of 49%, around $62 billion of the total MRO demand in the region. Components and line maintenance account for 22% and 15%, respectively, while modifications and airframe heavy will see demand around $10 billion and $7 billion, respectively.
Aviation Week’s data shows that C checks and engine overhauls will comprise the largest share of MRO shop visits in China for the period 2023-2032, at 38% and 33%, respectively.
It is forecast that China will see a total demand of 11,480 C checks and 10,028 engine overhaul shop visits for the period of 2023-32. Meanwhile, there will be a demand of 4,426 and 4,176 for D checks and engine LLP events in the region over the next decade.
