Russian cargo carrier AirBridgeCargo Airlines is setting up a new predictive maintenance program for its fleet. It signed a cooperation agreement with GE Digital at the Dubai Air Show last week to use its Maintenance Insight software for predictive maintenance capabilities.

The software, which is part of GE Digital’s Flight Analytics software package, provides the capability for early detection of aircraft and component degradation. According to GE Digital, airlines can use it to avoid operational disruptions and support corrective action decision making.

“With planes becoming more technologically advanced and connected to the ground, carriers have more instruments for predictive analytics and aircraft predictive maintenance,” says Denis Fisenko, general director, AirBridgeCargo Airlines. He adds that the agreement “is another step towards enhancement of our fleet utilization and operational efficiency, which at the end of the day will enable stability of our flight operations and guarantee uninterrupted supply chains for our customers across the globe.”

Under the agreement, the Maintenance Insight software will cover predictive maintenance on AirBridgeCargo’s Boeing 737F, 747F and 777F aircraft, as well as Antonov An-124-100/150 and Ilyushin IL-76TD-90VD aircraft operated by its parent company, Volga-Dnepr Group.

GE Digital’s Flight Analytics software suite has gained traction this month with airlines. Colombian ultra-low-cost airline Viva Air and Emirates just signed up for its Fuel Insight and FlightPulse software products, which use data to optimize flight operations and reduce carbon emissions.
