Lithuania-based FL Technics’ engine division has opened a new facility for CFM56 family engine MRO quick turn activities in Kaunas.
The new hangar, operated by FL Technics Engine Services, was recently granted Part-145 approval from Lithuania’s aviation regulator the Transport Competency Agency of Republic of Lithuania with approval from EASA. It operates in close proximity to FL Technics’ main facilities in the city.
Capabilities cover CFM56-3, CFM56-5B and CFM56-7B engine types, powering Boeing 737 classic, Airbus A320ceo and Boeing 737NG aircraft families respectively. Now operational, the three-bay facility will offer the service to airlines, lessors and asset management aimed at engine lifecycle optimization.
“The main advantage of the quick turn activities engine shop is that it can offer and deliver tailor-made solutions to customers, allowing fixing specific engine defects using full-power synergy of OEM Special Procedures and FL Technics Engine Services and FL Technics engine asset management experience,” says Valerij Deveikis, CEO of FL Technics Engine Services.
