Hong Kong’s HAECO ITM announced that it has expanded and extended its inventory technical management support for China Airlines’ (CAL) Boeing 777 fleet to include six new freighters and its existing ten 777-300ER.
The contract will run through 2029 and covers component MRO, repair management, component pooling, component engineering, consumable and expendable parts support services, AOG support as well as onsite consignment stock in Taipei.
HAECO ITM executive general manager, William Arblaster told Aviation Daily that during the pandemic, it has “dynamically adapted” its supply chain to ensure redundancy and flexibility to adapt to the changes driven from the COVID restrictions globally including CAL where it has changed its flying patterns focusing on cargo.
He added that as HAECO’s main inventory base is cargo-hub Hong Kong, there remains multiple logistics options into CAL’s main base in Taipei, despite Covid-19 restrictions and disruptions.
Aviation Week Fleet Data Services shows CAL currently has three 777F in service, and another three on order.
