Jordanian MRO Joramco announced record-breaking 2022 results, citing skilled workers, smart management, strong capital backing and competitive labor costs as drivers.
In the 12 months up to Dec. 31, 2022, Joramco booked more than 1.3 million labor-hours and performed 315 maintenance checks. It welcomed nine new customers during the year, bringing its customer total to more than 50.
The MRO had at times 64 aircraft on site for maintenance work. Joramco supports three main types of aircraft: Airbus and Boeing narrowbody and widebody aircraft and Embraer regional jet models.
To support the increasing workload, Joramco onboarded 137 new employees in 2022 and promoted 191 workers.
In a social media post promoting its growth, Jeffrey Wilkinson, CEO of Joramco parent company DAE Engineering, said new hangars will open at Joramco in late 2023 and early 2024. Aviation Week has been unable to get official confirmation from Joramco about this statement.
The new year to date has also brought new company announcements. In mid-January, Joramco confirmed it had received OEM approval from Orolia-Kannad for battery replacement and programming of its electronic locator transmitters.
In late January, Joramco appointed Patrick Armstrong as its new vice president of commercial. It says Armstrong has spent most of his career working in the Middle East, especially the United Arab Emirates.
Joramco’s parent company, Dubai Aerospace Enterprise, also finished 2022 strongly. Last year, it acquired 94 aircraft, of which it sold 33, and signed 143 lease transactions.
