FEAM Partners with Sunaero on Fuel System Repairs
FEAM has partnered with Sunaero-Americas to provide on-site fuel system repair services at FEAM’s MRO hangar at Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky (CVG) International Airport. Sunaero utilizes helium tracer gas technology to pressure the fuel system, allowing for rapid identification of leak points.

Magnetic Engines Begins Combustion Chamber Replacement Service
Magnetic MRO’s new subsidiary Magnetic Engines has performed its first combustion chamber replacement on a CFM56-7B engine. It says its newly extended capabilities will enable it to support the majority of hospital repairs on CFM56-3/-5B/-7B engine types.

FAA AMT Workforce Grants
Applications for the FAA's Aviation Maintenance Technical Workforce Grant Program are due March 22. A wide range of workforce development activities are eligible for grants of $25,000-500,000. StandardAero Acquiring Signature Aviation Engine Business
StandardAero has entered into an agreement to acquire Signature Aviation’s Engine Repair and Overhaul (ERO) business. The ERO business includes Dallas Airmotive, H&S Aviation, W.H. Barrett Turbine Engine Company, International Governor Services and International Turbine Service. The transaction is expected to close in mid-2021.

MAAS Aviation Opens New Kaunas Paint Shop
MAAS Aviation has opened a new aircraft paint shop at Kaunas Airport. The twin-bay, narrowbody paint shop can accommodate up to two Airbus A321-sized aircraft simultaneously. It says the facility is the first of its kind in Lithuania and will increase its overall MRO capacity in Europe by 40%.

AvAir Acquires Sabena Technics’ Surplus Inventory
AvAir has entered an agreement with Sabena Technics to acquire the MRO’s surplus inventory, including both consumable and expendables in new condition. The agreement covers both airframe and component surplus materials used for heavy maintenance on various Airbus, ATR and C-130 aircraft. Sabena Technics says it sold its surplus to optimize its inventory.

AES Gains EASA Part21J Approval
Aerospace Engineering Solutions (AES) has received full EASA Part 21J Design Organization Approval (DOA) for its Shannon, Ireland office. It says the new approval will complement its UK Civil Aviation Authority Part21J DOA approval and provide a transparent STC/modification process post-Brexit.

AEI Signs Freighter Conversion Contract with Aeronaves TSM
Aeronautical Engineers, Inc. (AEI) has signed a contract to provide Mexican charter and cargo carrier Aeronaves TSM with two additional CRJ200 SF Freighter Conversions, the first of which will commence in May. Modification touch labor and maintenance requirements for the conversions will take place at authorized Commercial Jet, an authorized AEI Conversion Center in Dothan, Alabama.

Duncan Aviation Adds SWAT Services
Duncan Aviation is now offering SWAT services (survey aircraft interiors; write prompt quotes; artistically clean, touch-up, dye, correct; transform appearance and functionality) at its three full-service facilities in Lincoln, Nebraska; Battle Creek, Michigan and Provo, Utah. According to Duncan Aviation, its SWAT teams specialize in small aesthetic repairs during larger scheduled maintenance services to provide a quick “interior facelift.”
