Sabena Technics Acquires Military and Helicopter MRO
Sabena Technics has acquired Aeromecanic, which provides maintenance services for military aircraft and helicopters. Aeromecanic’s industrial facilities in Marignane, France—near Airbus Helicopters—include more than 3,000 m2 of hangar space and workshops for engines, sheet metal work, avionics, painting, and wheels and brakes.

S7 Technics Maintains Bright Engine Outlook
S7 Technics has reported that it has seen an uptick in demand for engine repair work, which it attributes to an increase in cargo and domestic operations in Russia. It says that the COVID-19 crisis has not postponed its plans to open a center for APU maintenance at Moscow Sheremetyevo Airport, and it also plans to open a center for CFM56-5B and -7B repairs.

Qatar Airways B777 Fleet to Get IFE Upgrade
Panasonic Avionics Corporation has announced Qatar Airways as the launch customer for its new EcoFW 10” inflight entertainment upgrade program. The seatback monitors on the airline’s fleet of 33 Boeing 777s will be updated with the IFE system. Panasonic says upgrades can take place during routine overnight maintenance and include installation of a new passenger entertainment server.

LOTAMS Begins Maintenance for Great Dane Airlines
Great Dane Airlines has signed on as a new customer with Polish MRO LOTAMS, which has commenced work with a structural check of one of the airline’s Embraer E195s. In addition to inspecting the aircraft’s structure, LOTAMS checked the aircraft systems and added lubrication to the engine fan blades.

EngineStands24 Adds Digital Tracking Features
EngineStands24 has added new tracking devices to the current engine stand pool that enable customers to track engine stands in real time, including during storage and transport. The tracking devices also feature additional capabilities such as checking the temperature of where the engine stand is stored or vibration during transport.

MTU Maintenance Signs New Engine Agreement
MTU Maintenance has signed an exclusive six-year V2500 engine agreement with Air Serbia covering MRO, engine trend monitoring and spare engine services for its A319 and A320 fleet. The agreement is its first with the airline.

Meggitt Signs Maintenance Support Contract with Shandong Airlines
Meggitt PLC has signed a three-year SMARTSupport contract with Shandong Airlines for the supply of maintenance and repair services for the Boeing 737NG. It will perform work from its Services & Support regional center of excellence in Singapore while it establishes its base in China. The contract is Meggitt’s first SMARTSupport long-term agreement in China.

Airworthy Becomes Repair Station for DCA Travel Chair
Aircraft interiors specialist Airworthy has signed an agreement with Devcolaxe (DCA) Travel Chair to serve as its official repair station and programmed spares distributor in North America. As part of the agreement, Airworthy will provide full repair and overhaul services for DCA’s Airline Travel Chair family of products, including its lightweight Travel WheelChair.

Taby Completes ATR Refurbishment Work
Täby Air Maintenance has finished a major overhaul and refurbishment on two ATR 72 aircraft for Russian regional carrier KrasAvia.

Brussels Airlines Partners with FLYdocs on A330 Lease Return Services
Brussels Airlines has signed a contract extending its partnership with FLYdocs for end-of-lease return services on an Airbus A330 aircraft. The new agreement includes a build and audit, as well as a digital migration of the A330’s records before delivery back to its lessors.
