Oman Air has selected Istanbul-based Turkish Technic to provide component support for its Boeing 737 fleet. The airline has signed a 10-year comprehensive pool and advance exchange contract with the MRO covering its fleet of 737NG and 737 MAX aircraft.

Under the agreement, Turkish Technic will provide component pool, maintenance and advance exchange services. According to CEO Mikail Akbulut, Turkish Technic already provides component services for more than 900 global aircraft and the deal represents “another milestone contract” in its partnership with the airline.

According to Aviation Week Network’s Fleet and MRO Forecast, Oman Air operates 15 737-800s and seven 737 MAX 8s. Its mixed fleet also includes 787s and Airbus A330s.

Turkish Technic reinforced its Boeing component pool last year through a renewal of its parts package agreement with the OEM. The agreement expanded its previous cooperation with Boeing by 9,000 part numbers, including a range of parts sourced through both the OEM and its partners.

In its 2021 financial results, released on March 22, Turkish Technic reported that it had provided maintenance and repair services for more than 100,000 components last year. It operates 24 component service workshops and holds pool inventory at warehouses in in the EMEA region, South Asia and the U.S.
