Poll: When Will Passenger Demand Return To Pre-Pandemic Levels?
Ryanair Group CEO Michael O’Leary believes demand could recover to pre-COVID-19 levels by as early as 2022, if air fares are low enough.
“Pricing will get the volumes back,” O’Leary told a Eurocontrol “Hardtalk Live” webinar Dec. 7.
“I don’t have any faith in these lazy analyses-of late 2025, or 2026-to go back to pre-COVID 2019 levels. Actually, I think we get back there by about 2022, but only if we have lower pricing. So, pricing may take a couple of years after that to recover.”
