Peter Saunders has been named an independent non-executive director of London-based Air Partner plc. He also is a non-executive director of the Canadian Tire Corp. and succeeds Chuck Pollard.
Scott Plumb has been named Switzerland-based senior vice president-sales for the Jetcraft Corp. He has been an executive with Textron Aviation, Beechcraft, Vistajet, Airbus and Gulfstream.
Joshua Spangrud (see photo) has become a senior supervising engineer in the San Francisco office of Parsons Brinckerhoff, where he will be a manager for airport improvement projects.
Daniel Faber has been promoted to CEO from chief operating officer of Houston-based Deep Space Industries. He succeeds David Gump, who has become vice chairman/director of marketing and communications.
Michael J. Meaney (see photo) has been named vice president for Advanced Land and Self-Protection Systems in the Linthicum, Maryland-based Electronic Systems Sector of the Northrop Grumman Corp. He was director of the range business unit for Northrop Grumman Amherst Systems in Buffalo, New York.
Allen Thompson has been appointed Washington-based director of government relations for the United Technologies Corp. David Manke, formerly vice president-aerospace and defense, will now lead the international government relations group and has been succeeded by Christopher Peace. Peter Holland, currently vice president-state government affairs also will oversee energy issues.
J oanne Smith has been promoted to executive vice president/chief human resources officer of Delta Air Lines from senior vice president-inflight service, effective Oct. 1. She will succeed Mike Campbell , who will be retiring.
Honda Aircraft Co. President/CEO Michimasa Fujino has been named to receive the SAE International Clarence L. “Kelly” Johnson Aerospace Vehicle Design and Development Award in late September. It recognizes individuals for “contributions during their career in the innovative design and development of advanced aircraft and/or spacecraft.” Fujino is responsible for the research and development, production, sales and marketing of the HondaJet.
David McMillan has been elected chairman of the International Civil Aviation Organization’s Task Force on Risks to Civil Aviation Arising from Conflict Zones. He is chairman of the Flight Safety Foundation and was director general of Eurocontrol.
Ron Price will receive the Award of Merit for North America from the London-based Honorable Company of Air Pilots. He has been director of the Abbotsford International Air Show in British Columbia that is now known as Aerospace North America. Winners of the Guild Sword of Honor are John and Martha King of the King Schools of San Diego. They are cited for “making aviation knowledge clear, simple and fun for hundreds of thousands of pilots and maintenance technicians all over the world.
Greg Paxson has become Part 135 director of maintenance for Sun Air Jets, Camarillo, California. He succeeds Dave Anderson, who is now Part 145 accountable manager.
