ACI World director general Luis Felipe de Oliveira has hit back at claims made by IATA director general Willie Walsh that many airports are “addicted to a ‘spend big and cream it off the customer’ mentality.”
The UK government has outlined plans to offer a one-off “amnesty” on airport slots rules to help airlines minimize disruption during the northern summer season.
IATA Director-General Willie Walsh said he is “very positive” about the recovery, with the number of airport pairs connected by direct air service set to return above the 20,000 mark this year.
Under new owner Tata Group, the Indian carrier expects to open several new hubs across the country and increase its footprint on key long-haul markets.
