Europe’s aviation industry leaders will gather in Bilbao this weekend (22-24 April) at the 13th annual Routes Europe to plan and negotiate new air services within the region.
The European aviation market in 2017 was one of the strongest years for financial and passenger performance, according to figures published by IATA, carriers' international traffic climbed 8.2 percent compared to 2016. Capacity rose 6.1 percent and load factor surged 1.6 percent to 84.4 percent, which was the highest for any region.
With all eyes on the Basque Country ahead of Routes Europe, the government's minister of tourism Alfredo Retortillo outlines the region's key route development targets and what delegates can expect when they arrive later this month.
